Student Representative Council

Student Representative Council

The SRC is a group of students in the school that are elected by their fellow students. At Coonabarabran Public School, the SRC comprises two students from each 3-6 class as well as the current Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects.

SRC members represent all students in the school and organise ways for students to participate in school life. The students have the responsibility of attending two lunch time meetings each term in which ideas for improving school life are discussed.

The SRC also hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year such as 3-6 Socials (usually one per term) and out-of-uniform days. The money that is raised is used to buy new equipment for student use or for any other area in the school in which the SRC see a need.

In 2014, the SRC used funds to buy new lunch time equipment such as basketballs, netballs and frisbees. They also transformed the 3-6 Weather Shed into a games room in which students have access to table tennis, a giant game of chess and many other games. This is an ongoing project that the SRC wil continue to work on throughout the remainder of the year.
